Cleaning guides & practical checklists
Planning a cleaning service is easier when you know what information to prepare and what needs to be considered.
Our practical guides and checklists are designed to help businesses, landlords, tenants and homeowners prepare for their cleaning service, understand what may be required and provide Envirowise with the information needed to recommend the right next step.

Practical information before you get started
Whether you are planning an ongoing commercial cleaning contract, preparing a rental property for handover or requesting a detailed deep clean, a little preparation can make the quotation and cleaning process much more straightforward.
Use the guides below as a starting point.
COMMERCIAL CLEANING CHECKLIST
Plan the right cleaning service for your workplace
Before requesting a commercial cleaning quotation or site survey, it helps to build a clear picture of your premises, how they are used and the level of cleaning required.
Your premises
Consider:
- Approximate size of the premises
- Number of floors or separate areas
- Number of offices or workspaces
- Kitchens and staff facilities
- Washrooms
- Reception and entrance areas
- Meeting rooms
- Communal areas
- Storage or back-of-house areas
- Any customer-facing spaces

COMMERCIAL CLEANING REQUIREMENTS
Your cleaning requirements
Think about:
- How often cleaning is required
- Preferred cleaning days
- Preferred cleaning times
- Average staff and visitor numbers
- High-traffic areas
- High-touch surfaces
- Flooring types
- Areas requiring additional attention
- Consumables or additional requirements
- Any existing cleaning specification

COMMERCIAL CLEANING SHEDULING
Access and scheduling
It is also useful to confirm:
- Normal operating hours
- Whether cleaning needs to take place outside working hours
- Key, alarm or access arrangements
- Parking or loading restrictions
- Your preferred start date
- Whether an existing cleaning contract is currently in place
You do not need to have every detail confirmed before contacting us. For suitable ongoing contracts, Envirowise can arrange a site survey to review your premises and help create an appropriate cleaning specification.

END-OF-TENANCY CLEANING CHECKLIST
An end-of-tenancy clean usually involves more detailed cleaning than a standard household clean. Before requesting your quotation, use this checklist to identify the condition of the property and any additional services that may be required.

- Storage areas

Bedrooms and living areas
Check:
- Floors and carpets
- Skirting boards
- Surfaces
- Doors and frames
- Internal glass where applicable
- Cupboards and storage areas
- Marks or areas requiring additional attention

Before requesting your quote
Please also confirm:
- Number of bedrooms
- Number of bathrooms
- Whether the property is furnished or unfurnished
- General condition of the property
- Whether oven cleaning is required
- Whether carpet or upholstery cleaning is required
- Access and parking arrangements
- Preferred cleaning date
- Property handover date
- Any landlord or managing-agent requirements
We may request photographs or video before preparing your quotation. This helps us understand the property’s condition and the level of cleaning required.

DEEP-CLEAN PHOTO GUIDE
What photographs should you send for a deep-clean quote?
Photographs and video help us understand the current condition of your property before preparing a deep-clean quotation.
You do not need professional photographs. Clear phone photos taken in good lighting are usually enough.
Start with wider room photographs
Take a clear photograph of each area so we can understand the overall space, including:
• Kitchen
• Bathroom
• Bedrooms
• Living areas
• Hallways
• Utility areas where applicable
Then photograph areas needing extra attention
Where relevant, include closer photographs of:
• Hob and surrounding surfaces
• Oven if cleaning is required
• Kitchen worktops
• Cupboards
• Showers and baths
• Limescale
• Toilets and basins
• Flooring and carpets
• Grease or heavy build-up
• Staining
• Areas that have not been cleaned for some time
• Any specific problem areas you want us to assess
Tips for useful photographs
For the clearest assessment:
• Use good natural or room lighting
• Avoid heavily blurred images
• Include both wide room views and close-ups
• Photograph the actual condition rather than cleaning beforehand
• Include anything you are particularly concerned about
If video gives a clearer picture of the property, you can provide that instead or alongside photographs.
The more accurately we can understand the condition beforehand, the easier it is to assess the work required and prepare an appropriate quotation.
Tell us what you need
If you are unsure which cleaning service is most suitable, contact Envirowise and tell us a little about your workplace, property or home.
We can review your requirements and help you determine the most appropriate service, quotation process or next step.
